16 Months and 3 Years

Addison is 16 months old today! The past couple of months have been pretty crazy around the Wells household. We’ve dealt with loss, been on a long vacation to Georgia, and moved to Boerne all in a month and a half. Throughout all of these ups and downs, Addison has been a trooper and a source of great joy. When we were sad, Addison lifted our spirits with her contagious laughter and the silly things she does. She is all about entertaining people. If she does something that gets a laugh she will continue to do it over and over again and just laugh right along with her audience. She loves to wave at people in the store, parking lot, or wherever we might be. In the airport, on our way to Georgia, she walked through the terminal stopping in front of people waiting on their flight and waving or smiling at them until they acknowledged her. Then she’d move on to the next person. There are many times that Kacey and I just look at each other with laughter, wondering how we got such a silly girl. Addison also loves to dance! She’s definitely got the “booty-shaking” down!

She has mastered the sounds of many animals – duck, chicken, dog, cat, snake, gorilla, alligator, donkey, turkey, pig, cow, and sheep. She has also started saying a lot of words – Daddy, Mama, Bear, sit, no-no, duck, more, please, snack, baby, water, Elmo, uh-oh, work, light, book, and bye-bye. Every day she amazes me with what she can say or understand. A favorite “word” she says is her version of Papa (for Papa Jody). Those who know him well all agree that it’s a very fitting name. (Sorry, Dad)

On a different note, today Kacey and I celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary! I was just looking back at pictures from our wedding day - what a fun day that was! A lot has happened in the past 3 years, and I can't imagine a better partner to share my life with. Kacey is an amazing dad and incredible husband, and I'm a lucky girl to have him in my life. We are happy to share our anniversary day with Aunt Lynn and Uncle Steve (although they've been married much longer..."forever" according to Kacey). Happy Anniversary, Lynn and Steve!
