13 Months
Addison is 13 months old today. And what a 13th month it has been! We survived 2 emergency room visits, several doctors visits, a hospital stay, a nasty stomach virus, a cough/cold, another round of the cough/cold that we weren't sure would ever go away, and lots and lots of medicines that were not fun to take (or administer). (Thank goodness those weren't all Addison, but Kacey and I shared in them too.) This picture sums it up nicely...what a month!
Despite all of the sicknesses this month, Addison is still such a joy in our lives. She is walking better than ever and can get into so many more things now. If she has something she knows she shouldn't she will drop it and "run" from us if she sees us coming towards her. She loves to give kisses - big, open-mouth, slobbery kisses. She signs for eat, more, and all gone. (We're working on please and thank you.) She also loves to click her tongue on the top of her mouth. She loves to dance and clap her hands when there's music on. She does the signal for "touchdown" and pats her head. She also loves to play peek-a-boo. And she does all of these things with a huge grin. She loves to read books. Her favorite is "Brown Bear, Brown Bear." She will point to all of the animals and tell us what some of them say. For the teacher, I've taught her to shake her finger like she's telling a student to sit down and be quiet. (Maybe something she'll hear a lot of when she starts school?) Since we got home from the hospital, she will point at everything and let out a big gasp like it's the most exciting thing she's ever seen. She will do that all day long. It's so adorable. I tell people it's almost like she's just so thankful to be out of the hospital, that everything excites her. :) We're looking forward to a (hopefully) much less exciting 14th month.
